C6 Citroen Sedans Range / versions
The Citroën C6 will live on...in China

The French brand Citroën will once again use the “C6” badge after dropping it a few years ago, coinciding with the disappearance of its most representative saloon.
It seems Citroën will use this nomenclature only in the Chinese market, where the brand enjoys a well-established image. Its flagship model will be called, once again, C6.
In China, Citroën has a long tradition of large-sized models, mostly adapted to the tastes of the Asian giant, where customer trends and preferences differ from those of the European or American markets. Over the years, models that were initially designed solely for the Chinese market have arrived from there and were later incorporated into the European range. One example is the first-generation C4 Sedan.
Turning to the model at hand, it seems that for the Chinese market this nomenclature will be revived, although not the model as we knew it in our country. It seems it will be, once again, a large saloon, but with a more sporty, more avant-garde approach.

It may take many features from the Metropolis concept, presented in 2010 precisely at the Shanghai Motor Show. The internal designation of this new model appears to be X81, Citroën has been working on it for some time, and it will mount turbocharged 1.6 and 2.0-litre petrol engines.
A plug-in hybrid version may also reach the Chinese market, which would become the top of the range. Along with this new model, the firm DS is expected to launch an even more premium version on the same platform, which will be named DS9, and which is due to debut in 2017.
