Citroen E-Mehari Electric Cars
The Citroën E-Mehari shows its most elegant side with the limited "Styled by Courrèges" edition
Citroën and the Courrèges design house have joined forces once again with the E-Mehari, this time to create an exclusive limited edition of just 61 units

Citroën has set out to bid farewell to summer in style, and to do so has created a limited edition of the electric E-Mehari in collaboration with the Courrèges design house. This collaboration is not new: it began last year with the presentation of the E-Mehari concept, in which Courrèges also took part in the design, but this time it has also been used to commemorate the founding of the Courrèges “maison”.
In this way the Citroën E-Mehari “Styled by Courrèges” dresses in its finest attire, combining elegance and efficiency in one package, as well as exclusivity: only 61 units of this model will be built, matching the year the Courrèges house was founded. But this edition, as is usually the case, is not limited to aesthetic changes; its electric motor also receives improvements.

But let us start with its exterior design. As has become customary across all the special and limited editions presented this year, the colour used for the entire bodywork is black, named for the E-Mehari as Vinyl Black, which contrasts with the Gloss Black present on the two wheel arches. All of this is topped off with the hard-top and the 15-inch diamond-cut wheels, also in black, plus the commemorative “Styled by Courrèges” plates with a polished-metal effect located beneath the arches.
Inside, the contrast continues thanks to the use of waterproof white TEP upholstery across virtually the whole cabin. Where white has not been chosen, and continuing the contrast theme, black is used again in a glossy finish for some elements of the centre console. As on the exterior, the Courrèges logo and a plate bearing the unit number remind us that this is a limited edition.

The Citroën E-Mehari is a fully electric and convertible vehicle which, thanks to its design and underbody protection, will also let us venture along little-travelled tracks. It seats four people, with front seats that tilt forward with memory to ease access to the rear seats. There are plenty of storage compartments inside and, when the weather allows, once the hard-top is removed we can store items safely in a 78-litre lockable compartment. In this regard, the RFID key fob also adds an extra layer of security, since only when it is read by the car can we disconnect the charging plug, start the vehicle, access the security compartment and the central locking.
In terms of equipment, the Citroën E-Mehari “Styled by Courrèges” will be sold in only one trim level, including features such as ABS and ESP, 3-point Isofix mounts on the rear seats, four airbags, automatic headlight activation, low tyre-pressure sensor, or permanent acoustic pedestrian alert, active from 30 km/h. For connectivity, it incorporates a Bluetooth audio system signed by Parrot, with a USB input and two speakers.

Mechanically it retains the same electric motor, which delivers 68 CV of power, although torque has been increased by up to 20%, now reaching 166 Nm up to 3,700 rpm, after which it delivers the current 140 Nm. Its lithium metal polymer battery has a mixed range rated at 195 km, and can be recharged in 8 hours from a 16 A socket or 13 hours from a 10 A socket.
The Citroën E-Mehari “Styled by Courrèges” will be unveiled to the public next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show, although it can already be seen from 8 September at a preview presentation at the Galerie Joseph in Paris, during Design Week.
