The CUPRA Formentor earns Euro NCAP's 5 stars
The CUPRA Formentor has already faced Euro NCAP tests, where it earned five stars after passing various assessments.
CUPRA promised some time ago that it would have models of its own making, and so it has been. The CUPRA Formentor has set out to shake up the market with a wide range of engines and a design that doesn’t leave anyone indifferent. The Spanish brand has now completed the range of its crossover with the CUPRA Formentor VZ5, the sportier and more performance-focused variant, but now they have gone a step further by adding large doses of safety to the formula.
Sportiness without control and without support makes no sense at all, something CUPRA is very aware of. With this premise, and in order to demonstrate the Formentor’s worth in other areas, it has faced the demanding tests of Euro NCAP, where the CUPRA crossover has achieved the maximum score.
The Spanish brand has equipped the Formentor with the latest and most advanced safety measures, aimed at protecting both occupants and pedestrians in the event of a collision. This has translated into several solutions that make the Spanish crossover one of the safest in its segment after facing a new moving barrier that replaces the previous one with a deformable static barrier.

In addition, the side impact tests included a barrier on the driver’s side, which raises the level of demand. Euro NCAP has also adapted to new car technologies in terms of passive safety, leading to tougher tests for systems such as driver fatigue and distraction detection, among others.
With all this, the CUPRA Formentor has achieved 93% in adult occupant protection, 88% in child occupant protection, 68% in vulnerable road users and 80% in safety assist. In this way, the Spanish brand has successfully overcome a demanding challenge, since this was the first Euro NCAP test for a 100% CUPRA product.

In this way, the Formentor continues to have many chances of dominating the complex segment in which it sits, with a very appealing tuning, an overwhelming technological level, a generous range of engines and now also a proven high level of safety. Everything needed for CUPRA to know exactly which direction to follow in its next moves, with which it promises to bring more models of its own.
