The DeLorean is set to return in 2013, and electric, no less

I certainly didn’t expect this news, although, when you think about it, it makes a certain amount of sense. Let’s start by saying that the famous DeLorean is far from dead. The DMC-12 is still being built by DeLorean Motor Company to a strict order list, and spare parts are also sold for the DeLoreans still surviving around the world.
However, the DeLorean is adapting to our times, and not even Dr. Emmett Brown himself could have imagined it adapting to electric propulsion. DeLorean Motor Company has announced that it is preparing to present the DMCEV variant, which is due to enter production in 2013.
There are no further details yet, although apparently a first prototype exists, which was shown at an international DeLorean owners’ meeting held in Houston, USA.
About four years ago we already learned of the existence of an electric DeLorean that had nothing to do with DeLorean Motor, but was the work of an enthusiast. Now the project seems to be taking things more seriously; the DeLorean has finally arrived in the future.
