The first Corvette Grand Sport Collector's Edition will be auctioned to fight cancer

There are heroes and superheroes. If we talk about a car auctioned to fund the fight against this formidable scourge that is cancer, we are talking about a hero, even if it is made of metal. But if we talk about the Corvette Grand Sport Collector’s Edition, we have to talk about a superhero. This car, a limited edition of which very few units will be seen, is the first of its kind and it is going to be auctioned to provide considerable funds for research into the disease.

This car is the first one that can be seen of the special edition, so it carries a special value beyond what it is, since it represents those that will follow. The model chosen for the auction has a Glen Gray Metallic body colour with details in Tension Blue. The wheels feature an attractive black finish that gives the car’s image greater presence.

The interior revives the Tension Blue of the exterior character lines, and a covering of this colour in leather can be found in many corners of the cabin. According to the brand, this Tension Blue colour represents an evolution of the colour that has traditionally defined the Grand Sport range, so it is considered precisely that: a step forward for the model. For that reason, it is very much present in front of the driver at all times.

As for the engine in this special edition, it does not differ from the one offered in the traditional Grand Sport version, so we will see the Stingray V8 engine delivering 460 CV and a maximum torque of 630 Nm. What does change between the two versions is the sport suspension system, the reinforced brakes and larger tyres, which offer greater performance when driving on a circuit.

If the buyer prefers, they can add the Z07 performance package to the car, which adds carbon-ceramic brakes, specific tyres and an exclusive aerodynamic kit made of carbon fibre to enhance its specifications in this respect.
