The first image of the Audi RS5 Cabrio surfaces
The first image of what will be the next generation of the Audi RS5 Cabrio has just reached the internet. This information was revealed after the German four-ring brand unveiled it last autumn at the European Patent Office’s design office.
The images reveal the model destined for the United States, but there will be few changes compared to the European version. The carmaker is expected to present it at the next Paris Motor Show in September.
Like the hardtop variant, the RS5 Cabrio will feature a 4.2-litre V8 petrol engine capable of delivering 450 CV of power. This powerplant sends all its force to the wheels thanks to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox called S Tronic.
The Quattro all-wheel-drive system will not be missing from the next German convertible, giving it maximum grip thanks to a state-of-the-art centre differential. Top speed will be electronically limited to 250 km/h, and it will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 4.8 seconds. Breathtaking performance for a vehicle that will easily exceed 2,000 kg. If you like having your hair blown about, this is your car.
For now, we have no further details.
