The first Kia Stinger to arrive in Spain goes to tennis player Rafa Nadal
The Korean brand has maintained a close relationship with tennis player Rafa Nadal since 2004, and today he has been handed the keys to a new Kia Stinger.

Not long ago, the Korean brand announced that it would produce a sports saloon. That idea gave birth to what we know as the Kia Stinger. This vehicle has positively caught the attention of all car enthusiasts, and tennis player Rafa Nadal is among them, since today he received his.
The first sports car from Kia has arrived with great force, and it has been a pleasant surprise for everyone that the brand has entered this segment. Followers of the Spanish tennis player will know he has a close relationship with Kia and has already received several products from the Korean firm. Rafa Nadal plays a fundamental role at Kia, as he is the brand’s global ambassador. Besides being the number one in tennis, he is also number one for Kia, which is why they handed him a brand-new Stinger GT today.
The vehicle was delivered in Mallorca, the tennis player’s home island and where the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar is located, the facilities where Rafa received the Kia Stinger. The tennis player’s relationship with Kia began in 2004, when Rafa was taking his first steps, and since then they have maintained a loyal agreement that will run until 2020. There is no doubt a smile spread across the Mallorcan’s face today upon receiving his new Kia Stinger.

Let us recall that the Korean saloon is one of the brand’s strongest bets. Kia has taken all the elements of a sports car and fused them together, resulting in the Stinger. Under the skin of Kia’s new product there are three engine options. The most modest one is a 2.2 CRDi diesel engine producing 200CV; in the middle we have a 2.0 turbo GDI petrol engine producing 255CV, and the top spot belongs to the powerful 3.3 V6 twin-turbo producing 370CV. This last option is the one handed to Rafa Nadal.
Alongside this power, we find an 8-speed automatic gearbox and the option to equip your Kia Stinger with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. The combination of these elements makes the Stinger a true sports car, ready to set the bar very high and strike fear into its German rivals. Without a doubt, the brand’s new vehicle arrives intent on fighting very hard.

The Korean saloon will be available in Spain starting next November, making Rafa Nadal’s unit the first to set foot on Spanish soil. Prices for the Kia Stinger start at 40,900 euros and go up to 56,150 euros for the GT version. These figures position the Stinger as a direct rival to the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé and Audi A5 Sportback.
