E-Transit Ford Electric Cars Furgonetas
The Ford E-Transit now with extended range reaching up to 402 kilometres
Ford presents a new version of the E-Transit available in 19 variants with a higher-capacity battery and therefore extended range

If there is one thing that vans for city work, surrounding areas and deliveries are expected to deliver, it is greater range. Let’s remember that the declared range of these vans is always under the best conditions, and when it comes to real work, every professional knows that this is not the case. The condition of the road itself and, above all, the load carried at any given moment have a major influence.
For those looking for a spacious, fully electric van, the Ford E-Transit has proven to be an ideal companion, sales figures confirm this, placing it in Spain with a market share of 54.9%, or in other words, one in every two units sold in Spain is an E-Transit. Maintaining this share is vital for the Oval brand and essential to reach more customers, which is why they are now presenting the extended-range E-Transit.

In this version, the E-Transit comes equipped with a new battery that increases its capacity to 89 kWh, a 28% increase over the standard-range model, an improvement that allows the E-Transit to extend its range up to 402 kilometres according to the WLTP test cycle. As standard, this version includes a heat pump with vapour injection similar to the one fitted to the E-Transit Custom, which heats the cabin more efficiently when temperatures are low.

The arrival of this battery in the extended-range Ford E-Transit has allowed the brand’s engineers to improve charging performance, with a maximum AC charging capacity that rises from 11 kW to 22 kW, so a full charge can be completed in less than six hours. Likewise, DC fast-charging capacity has also increased from 115 kW to 180 kW, enabling 116 kilometres of range in just 10 minutes or going from 10% to 80% in about 28 minutes.

Another positive point is that the extended-range Ford E-Transit will also be offered in 19 variants, including L3 and L4 lengths, Van and Double Cab-in-Van bodies, single Chassis Cab and even a minibus conversion, with maximum authorised masses ranging from 3,500 kg to 4,250 kg. Furthermore, the maximum payload is up to 1,460 kg for the Van variants and 1,814 kg for the Chassis Cab variants, with a towing capacity of up to 750 kg for models with a maximum authorised mass of 3,500 kg.
