The Ford Mustang 2011 exceeds all sales forecasts

Ford appears to be overwhelmed. The new Mustang 2011 has been a true revolution, and with a few months still to go before it reaches the market, more than 11,000 orders have already arrived at the American brand in just over a month. The order period opened on last 18 January and has already tripled the number of requests it received in the same period of time for the Ford Mustang 2010.

Of all the domestic requests, the Mustang V6 with 305 CV accounts for 50%, which is 19% more than its 2010 counterpart. In addition, the surge in requests for the first Mustang Club of America (MCA) and the California models has helped exceed all sales expectations.

Steve Ling, Mustang’s marketing manager in the US, says that the great demand is due to the improved fuel economy of the Mustang:

Fuel savings are among the main reasons why people choose our vehicle. With the launch of the Mustang 2011, we have found a way to offer fuel efficiency while improving performance in the GT and Shelby GT500 models.

Demand for the Mustang GT 2011 is also quite high, with around 41% of the 11,000 requests. The 5.0L engine with 412 CV is the GT’s biggest draw. The remaining 9% goes to the Mustang 2011 Shelby GT500, which is powered by a 5.4-litre aluminium-block V8 producing 550 CV.
