Hands-free and feet-free driving becomes a reality on Spanish roads thanks to the BlueCruise autonomous driving system from Ford built into its Mach-E model

Back in early September we saw what the Ford was capable of with the astonishing Mustang: giving it nearly 500 CV, an off-road driving mode and extra ground clearance turned it into an impressive electric SUV. Now the iconic Mustang Mach-E from Ford has been updated, including an innovative feature that has arrived in Spain: the revolutionary Ford BlueCruise, which allows “hands-free, feet-free, eyes-on-the-road” driving. This technology, which has already won over drivers in the United Kingdom and Germany, is becoming a reality on the motorways and dual carriageways of our country, but that is not what we have come to tell you about.

What is truly new is that the updated Mustang E-Mach with BlueCruise is now open for orders for all those who want to be among the first to get one. Fans of the brand and the technology have reason to celebrate, since Spanish dealerships have opened orders for the 2023 Mustang Mach-E with Ford BlueCruise. However, the first units of this vehicle are scheduled for delivery at the end of November of this same year.

And there is more: some versions of this electric vehicle still qualify for the MOVES Plan, which can provide discounts on aid of up to 7,000 euros for buyers.

The new BlueCruise from Ford

Including Ford BlueCruise in the 2023 Mustang Mach-E offers drivers an unparalleled driving experience accompanied by the best sense of comfort and ease. This technology, which comes as standard on the vehicle, allows drivers to take their hands off the wheel while still paying attention to the road on 90% of the kilometres of Spanish motorways and dual carriageways, especially on the stretches designated as Blue Zones. This is made possible by a system of sensors that control steering, braking and lane position. In addition, a camera on the instrument panel constantly monitors the driver’s gaze and head position to ensure that their eyes remain focused on the road. The Spanish Blue Zones network covers more than 28,500 kilometres of motorways and dual carriageways.

Owners of a Ford Mustang Mach-E purchased from 12 October 2023 in Spain have the option of activating this advanced technology through a subscription. They will enjoy a free 90-day trial of Ford BlueCruise, which they can activate at any time within the first year from the date of purchase. When the trial ends, they can choose to keep the system active for 24.99 euros per month. This gives users flexibility, with no minimum commitment, meaning they could activate the service for one month and then deactivate it up to a year later.

But the news does not stop at Ford BlueCruise. The 2023 Mustang Mach-E with rear-wheel drive and standard range also receives a styling update. The 18-inch alloy wheels are replaced by elegant 19-inch alloy wheels in aluminium, painted in a shadow silver tone, with aerodynamic covers in gloss black.
