If you are one of those who enjoy driving a powerful yet comfortable pick-up, you are in luck. Ford Pro has just announced the arrival of the Platinum version of its popular Ford Ranger. European drivers will therefore be able to enjoy a more striking version of this model, which improves on the characteristics of the previous version and makes it a truly interesting vehicle.

The look and equipment of the new Ford Ranger Platinum are based on the base vehicle, elevated above the Wildtrack trim level, which was the best seller in Europe, accounting for 60% of sales. On the exterior, the highlight is the exclusive grille for this variant, which adds chrome decorative details.

The polished 20-inch alloy wheels feature a gloss ebony finish. The tailgate closes softly and has tinted glass windows. Roof bars are fitted as standard, increasing its practicality. As for the front lights, they use Matrix LED technology, which widens the driver’s field of vision.

Inside, both the driver and front passenger have premium leather-upholstered seats with contrast stitching. These seats are adjustable in 10 positions and feature heating and cooling. In terms of instrumentation, a 12-inch screen replaces the traditional gauges, and in the centre there is another vertically oriented screen that controls the SYNC 4A information and entertainment system.

The sound system is by B&O, with eight speakers and a wireless device charging system. In terms of connectivity, it comes with a standard modem that also allows software updates over the air. Several ADAS systems assist the driver on the road and make the vehicle easier to handle in any circumstances.

The Platinum version is available only as a double cab with five seats. Power comes from a 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel engine, the same unit used in the brand’s luxury SUVs and in the Ford F-150. It delivers 240 CV and a maximum torque of 600 Nm.

Orders for the Ford Ranger Platinum are open in Europe, although production will begin in March 2023. The first units are expected to be delivered in May of next year.
