The G30 generation of the BMW 5 Series will feature a Carbon Edition package

Distinguishing and upgrading the simpler versions will be the goal of the extras and accessories pack for the BMW 5 Series Carbon Edition

Its name says it all: it could have added a “muscle” in the middle, but it doesn’t need one, because the body of the BMW 5 Series already has enough sculpted presence that it doesn’t need any further steroid-style treatment.

The BMW 5 Series Carbon Edition includes a specific package developed by the M division for the large saloon, giving it a greater sense of sportiness and aggression than it comes with from the factory.

Although these photographs don’t come from the parent brand, having leaked to the specialist forum Bimmerpost of BMW. That they didn’t come from the manufacturer doesn’t make them any less credible, since for this BMW of the generation known internally as G30, it will include an M Performance package in the style we have already seen on other occasions.

An exclusive finish

The exterior elements, whose aim is to improve the vehicle’s dynamics and aerodynamics, will also set a BMW 5 Series apart from one with the Carbon Series finish. They include the M Sport Package kit itself, which features 19-inch 664M wheels through which a set of M Performance brakes can be seen.

Other distinctive elements will be M Performance sill covers, a lip added to the lower edge of the front bumper, a dedicated finish with improved airflow channelling for the rear bumper and, finally, a discreet but distinctive spoiler for the boot lid. All of this is applied to a white body that heightens the contrast between its colour and that of the carbon-fibre parts.

Inside, black predominates and stands out on the upholstered leather pieces, in Black Dakota, with eye-catching blue stitching inserts.

Behind the BMW M5

The BMW 5 Series Carbon Edition will be available for the most powerful versions of the G50 generation, except, of course, the BMW M5 itself. That means the BMW 530i and BMW 540i, in both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive variants.

The price increase over cars without the Carbon Series package will be close to 4,000 euros, and it will be available from this summer.
