The GWM Ora Ballet Car will look familiar, but it hides something you wouldn't expect

The new version of the GWM still looks like a VW Beetle, although its engine has been updated to make it more interesting to drive, and it is coming to China.

Great Wall Motors is now called GWM, simpler and more effective to identify at a glance. This Chinese company is beginning to arrive in Europe and has just announced the update of one of its first models. A car that suddenly reminds us of a classic European model, but which has been brought up to date. The GWM Ora Ballet Car is a model that is immediately recognisable as a Beetle, but it has been reworked by Chinese engineers.

This model has received an update this year, 2026, although the changes seem to have been few, at least aesthetically. Under the bonnet, we find quite substantial changes that increase the power and create a new driving experience. Curiously, this car is aimed at being used by women, and part of the cabin is designed with them in mind. Or at least, for what the designers believe they need.

No changes outside or inside

The new GWM Ora Ballet Car keeps the chrome bumpers, both front and rear. The large wheel arches are also present in this new version, and the curved windows give this model a very distinctive look. Inside, a large mirror has been fitted so that, they say, women can apply their make-up, with dedicated storage for beauty products and even a camera for taking selfies and posting them directly to social media.

Until now, the Ora Ballet Car had an electric motor producing 169 CV, but the power of this model has been increased to 201 CV. This increase is also reflected in the top speed, which goes from 155 km/h to 180 km/h. The battery is lithium iron phosphate, although it is not known whether it has been modified in any way.

The features of this model make it an interesting vehicle, although some of its equipment may seem a little… strange, supposedly designed “for women“.
