The Hennessey Mustang HPE750 reaches 335 km/h

John Hennessey never gives up. His love for high performance, speed and raw power knows no limits, and he expresses it in every build that leaves his workshop in Texas, United States. Alongside the Hennessey F-150 VelociRaptor 600 and a few other modifications that include the Camaro, the Corvette and even the Nissan GT-R, sits the new Mustang (he also carried out several builds on the previous one), with which he is setting speed records that not even the Ford itself has reached with its creation.
His first attempt took place only a few months ago, with the Hennessey Mustang HPE700, a modification that gave 717 CV and 856 Nm of torque to the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine, and with which he set 195 mph or 313 km/h on the Ford Mustang’s speedometer. Far from giving up in his fight, the tuner gave the muscle car another turn of the screw to finally break the 200 mph barrier, reaching 335 km/h (207.9 mph).

To achieve this, Hennessey has raised the level of the build to the HPE750 specification, which extracts 774 CV and 878 Nm of engine torque from the 5.0-litre V8 block, with the supercharger tirelessly blowing. And, as a show of confidence in his work, Hennessey brought Jay Leno, the famous American television host and car collector, to the Continental Proving Grounds in Uvalde, Texas, so he could witness his feat first-hand.
Hennessey’s HPE750 build on the Ford Mustang GT V8 5.0 costs $59,500 including the vehicle, although building an exact replica of the car that set the 335 km/h record comes to $69,374. The feat that established the 335 km/h mark will appear on Jay Leno’s programme on CNBC. Below we leave you the video of the feat.
