The Honda Accord will not be replaced in the European market

Honda has no plans to replace the Accord in Europe for the time being, as its sales share is still rather low, and it prefers to give more publicity to the Civic with its 1.6 diesel engine.

The Accord cannot be called a best-seller in Europe. Unfortunately for Honda, Europe is a market that remains somewhat elusive for it, and where some of its models go almost unnoticed, such as the Accord.

Earlier this month, the Accord unveiled a new model in the US, where things are going much better for the historic saloon. Honda Europe’s management has stated that, although the new Accord has found its footing in the American market, it will not only fail to appear in Europe, but the current model will not have a successor either.

For now, the focus appears to be on raising awareness across all European countries of the Civic with the 1.6 diesel engine, alongside the current 2.2-litre i-DTEC, as well as the new generation of the CR-V (which will also feature the i-DTEC engine).

In the European market, the Accord could find a successor in the future, but Honda says it has no rush to do so. It seems the only change being considered is equipping the Accord with the new diesel as well, and little else. Outside the borders of what Honda considers Europe (which does not include Russia), as well as the rest of Asia, the new Accord will arrive, almost similar to the American model.
