Honda Crosstar e:HEV: refresh for the hybrid crossover

The Honda Crosstar, the crossover-styled version of the Honda Jazz, receives a refresh with aesthetic changes affecting both the exterior and the interior, as well as improvements to the hybrid propulsion system, which increases its power without compromising its low consumption, still one of the main selling points of the Japanese MPV. Another of its strong points, which remains unchanged, is its versatility, thanks to an unbeatable balance between exterior size and interior space, and the practicality of the configurable Honda Magic Seats in the second row. Here you can read the road test of the Honda Jazz and the Crosstar version before this technical and aesthetic update.
Aesthetically, the exterior changes focus on the grille, with a honeycomb mesh, and on the new bumpers, with silver-finished trim and matching side skirts. The darkened headlights also contribute to giving it a more contemporary look. The alloy wheels can be finished in the same black as the door handles and the mirror housings. As for body colours, a new “fog blue” shade is added.
More power for the hybrid propulsion system
For the interior, the changes are typical of this type of update: the design is not modified, but the opportunity is taken to change materials, decorative inserts and upholstery. The most notable change is the new upholstery, in a darker colour and with a water-repellent treatment. Other modifications affect the trim around the gear selector and the door handles, which are in a silver and matt finish, respectively.

The e:HEV hybrid propulsion system, with two electric motors (one acting as a generator and the other connected to the petrol engine to drive the wheels), continues to stand out for its efficiency. Now, however, it gains 10 kW, which comes in very handy, to offer a system output of 90 kW (122 CV) and a maximum torque of 235 Nm. This power increase translates into better performance without raising consumption, which remains at an excellent 4.8 l/100 km. The WLTP combined-cycle range is 885 km.

The price of the Honda Crosstar e:HEV starts at 30,250 euros, or 28,950 euros if the purchase is financed through the brand (minimum financed amount of 10,000 euros, and a minimum term of 24 months). Equipment includes heated front seats, the Honda Sensing safety systems package, adaptive cruise control, and the Honda Connect multimedia system with a 9-inch touchscreen and Garmin navigation, compatible with Apple CarPlay (wirelessly) and Android Auto.
