Honda is going all out to offer an Insight that is increasingly competitive against the Toyota Prius, whose dominance of the hybrid market shows no sign of ending. Honda’s latest move focuses on minor changes to the Insight’s ride comfort, plus an upgrade to its trim levels.

This time the changes are based on feedback from Insight owners regarding how the car drives. The springs have been recalibrated to alter their travel, the rear wheel alignment angles have been changed, and the rear suspension arm has been modified. Apparently all of this has been done to give the Insight slightly softer suspension.

At the same time, the Insight receives a new dashboard design and new upholstery colours, along with a change of materials for the interior plastics, which have improved in quality. Mid-range models receive new parking sensors.

A better-equipped model is also introduced, the EX, featuring black leather seats, a navigation system and multimedia unit with an integrated DVD player, and new options for mobile phone use. This top version will also get two new exterior paint colours.

The only question left is whether all of this will reach every model worldwide or whether it will only be offered in certain markets.
