When the sports car was spotted in August, speculation suggested it could be a new prototype or a special order similar to the Ferrari P4/5.

The Italian firm has recently confirmed that the car is the first special version of its new Portfolio programme. The sports car, called SP1, was delivered to the well-known Japanese Ferrari collector Junichiro Hiramatsu.

The car, based on an F430, was designed together with Fioravanti, so the Italian design house is celebrating its 20 years in the market in style, showing in its latest work elegant, dynamic lines that run along almost the entire length of the sports car.

In addition, the car also stands out for its lighting system, taken from the 599 GTB, and for the streamlined shape of its rear end.

Ferrari has said it will keep working with Fioravanti, Pininfarina and Zagato on its new programme, but it has made clear that the 599 GTB and the California are outside the scope of the special versions.
