F-150 Raptor Ford Industry Pick-up
The impressive Ford F-150 will feature a new EcoBoost V6 engine
One of the most popular pick-ups in the United States will get a new EcoBoost engine that will offer a better power-to-weight ratio thanks to the reduction in weight of the chassis and body, with improved efficiency

They are not very common in our market, but in the United States they are a real craze. They are pick-ups, large vans that are very popular in the American market. One of the most highly regarded pick-ups among Americans is the Ford F-150, a true giant of the automotive world that will now get a new and powerful engine.
It is a 2.7-litre EcoBoost V6 engine that will deliver 300 CV and a maximum torque of 500 Nm, enough to move the van’s light body with ease and carry an impressive 1,020 kg of payload and a towing capacity of 3,855 kg.

The 2.7 V6 EcoBoost engine will be available in the Ford F-150 from 2015 onwards and improves performance by 15% over the 5.0 V8 it currently fits, which has a similar maximum torque. In addition, the new powertrain will feature Auto Start&Stop as standard, although the manufacturer has not released any fuel consumption figures for the engine.
It will not be the only engine used in the 2015 F-150, since the base model will use a naturally aspirated 3.5 V6 engine that produces 283 CV and 345 Nm. The towing capacity of this engine is slightly lower than the new one, at 3,447 kg, and its maximum payload is also somewhat lower, at 866 kg.
The new engines have a smaller displacement, but thanks to the weight reduction achieved with the aluminium body and a lighter and stiffer chassis, the power-to-weight ratio and the vehicle’s efficiency have been improved, reducing consumption and enhancing performance. It can also be specified with a 3.5 EcoBoost engine and another 5.0 V8 with Ti-VCT powertrain.
