The Jamiroquai singer's Ferrari LaFerrari goes on sale

The surprise comes with the appearance on the used-car market of the unique Ferrari LaFerrari belonging to the Jamiroquai singer

When, back in March 2013, the world received at the Geneva Motor Show with as much fascination as astonishment the arrival of the first production Ferrari hybrid hypercar, none of the lucky 499 recipients who would receive one of the units originally leaving the Maranello factories chose to paint their LaFerrari green — none, except the popular Jason Kay, better known as Jay K, and even more so as the driving force behind the group Jamiroquai.

Returning to the Jamiroquai singer’s own Ferrari LaFerrari, the surprise comes from this car’s appearance on the website of the luxury car buying and selling specialist Joe Macari, a motor trader that also offers official Ferrari and Maserati service.

The only Ferrari LaFerrari in Signal Green, for sale

This unit is offered by the dealership located in London, which, among its catalogue of cars for sale, includes two Ferrari F50s, two more units of the Ferrari Enzo, a Ferrari 599 SA Aperta… but also a Lamborghini Miura SV and a McLaren Senna… all with prices that reach or exceed one million euros, at the very least.

It is therefore no surprise that this Ferrari LaFerrari belonging to Jay Kay easily exceeds two million euros since, due to the extraordinary nature of its specification and the prestige of its sole owner, as reflected in the documentation provided by the dealership, the price of the Jamiroquai singer’s LaFerrari surpasses that of other units of the same model, which are offered at over two million euros.

That sum pays for the exclusivity of a Ferrari that inherited the best of competition technology from Formula 1 and made it available to whoever acquired a hybrid car capable of producing up to 963 CV in total, thanks to the power generated by the 6,262 cc V12 engine together with the electric unit, which catapult it from 0 to 100 km/h in three seconds, from 0 to 200 in 7, and to a top speed of over 350 km/h, all in a vehicle homologated for ordinary road use but especially designed to give its best on the track.

Jay Kay’s cars

Jason Kay, besides being a singer, is a collector and lover of sports cars. So much so that, both in his artistic and personal life, he is a regular user of highly exclusive cars.

Indeed, in some of his videos he has put the music industry’s resources at its service, taking the wheel himself or placing some of his bandmates behind it, in cars such as the Lamborghini Diablo or the Ferrari that inspired the development of the LaFerrari, three decades after its launch — the very Ferrari F40 that appears in the Cosmic Girl video, a Lamborghini Diablo 30th Anniversary edition limited to 150 pieces, with only 16 of them featuring the driving position for the British configuration, and which, incidentally, is no longer part of the Jason Kay garage since it was auctioned in 2016 with a starting price of 615,000 euros.

Jason himself has often explained the origin of his passion for high-performance cars and his constant need to renew it so that he can enjoy them for the time necessary to squeeze out their essence and, when the moment comes, trade them in for a new toy.
