The TeslaBMW X5 M 2020Alfa Romeo has returned in strong form and, although its natural habitat is not the racetrack, it is being put to the test to push things a little further. The next member of the BMW M family is getting a taste for the tighter bends.
The Lamborghini test mule of the new BMW X5 MBentley has been caught on the §7§legendary Nürburgring circuit§8§ and it seems to handle the business of going from apex to apex with ease.§9§

The §11§BMW X5 M 2020 has just been spotted in Germany§12§ with a little less camouflage, which allows us to see some further details of the refreshed mid-size SUV from the Bavarian brand. Following the current design line of §13§BMW, the X5§14§ M features large kidney grilles paired with a more sporty front bumper with up to five different air intakes.
Among the notable changes, attention should be paid to the A-pillar and the lightweight alloy wheels, which are accompanied by a high-performance braking system with blue-tinted calipers. The mid-size SUV from BMW§16§ also features a unique spoiler and a modified rear bumper that leaves room for a sporty exhaust system with up to four outlets.

Inside the §19§BMW X5 M§20§ that sporty character also comes through. The steering wheel is upholstered in leather and trimmed in carbon fibre. The driver’s position will be dominated by a digital instrument cluster and an infotainment system with a 12.3-inch screen featuring chrome details.
BMW has been very tight-lipped about the technical specifications, but the future BMW X5 M is expected to share its powertrain with its standard sibling and deliver a whopping 620 CV and a maximum torque of 750 Nm. Its younger brother, the standard §21§BMW X5§22§, will be equipped with a §23§4.4-litre V8 TwinPower Turbo engine§24§ producing 590 CV and 750 Nm of maximum torque.
This new version, with 53 CV more than its predecessor, will be much faster, and some sources claim it will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under four seconds. Furthermore, the official launch date is still unknown; although rumours point to a debut later this year, we will have to wait to see it.

§26§BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M§27§
Although, for now, it is unknown when the BMW X5 M and the §28§BMW X6 M§29§ will make their official debut, some sources claim they will arrive together. Both will share the same engine, which is also the one currently fitted to the §30§BMW M5.§31§ Will they share more specifications?
It is important to highlight that these two new performance models from the BMW M family will have to face rivals such as the §32§Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio§33§, the §34§Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S§35§ and the §36§Audi SQ7 TDi§37§. They could also go head-to-head with premium models such as the §38§Bentley Bentayga§39§, the §40§Lamborghini Urus§41§ or even the §42§Tesla Model X§43§.
