The Kubota Agri Concept shows that electric mobility is also possible in the agricultural world

The world of tractors is not very present in the articles of this automotive magazine, but that does not mean there is nothing to tell about them. In fact, at CES a farm vehicle that has attracted quite a few glances from attendees has been presented. It is the Kubota Agri Concept, which aims to show that tractors can also be the subject of innovation and move closer to electric mobility.

This vehicle is not intended for large agricultural areas, but is rather designed for owners of small farming plots and users in residential areas. But what matters most about this concept vehicle is that it combines artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, automated processes and electrification.

The vehicle uses six independent electric motors, which operate silently. This is very practical in urban or populated areas. Not much is known about these motors or the battery that powers them. What the company that designed this electric tractor has reported is that it will be able to charge from 10% to 80% in just six minutes.

The autonomous driving system allows the vehicle to move by itself and carry out various tasks without the presence of a human driver. Its sensors are able to detect obstacles in its path and can even tell the difference between humans and animals, or between an agricultural product and another vehicle, for example.

At the rear it has three hitches, to which the brand’s attachments for mowing grass or certain tillage tasks can be fitted.

A concept tractor

Like other vehicles found at CES, this one is entirely conceptual and is not intended for production. However, the company, which specializes in manufacturing this type of vehicle, wants to use all the innovations it has created for the tractor in other models it is actually producing.

Artificial intelligence plays a major role in this project, as the model is meant to collect data that will chart the way forward in the development of vehicles for agricultural work and help users.
