The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse will be presented in Frankfurt

While we await the next generation of the Gallardo, Lamborghini announces that at the next Frankfurt Motor Show it will present the most impressive Gallardo of all: the Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse, no less than a street version based on the Gallardo Super Trofeo, used by the brand in the Blancpain Cup. In fact, it is very similar to the competition car and shares the same V10 engine.

It is not only the engine that the two Italian monsters share. The Squadra Corse has the same rear wing used on the racing version, which provides aerodynamic downforce that is three times greater than that of the Gallardo LP 560-4. It also shares the removable engine cover. As you can imagine, all these elements are made of carbon fibre, as are other interior components of the Squadra Corse.

Carbon fibre also makes the Squadra Corse the lightest car that Lamborghini will offer for sale in street form, with a total weight of 1,340 kilos. Lighter than the LP 560-4, it will have a power-to-weight ratio of 2.35 kilos per horsepower, with an announced acceleration of 3.4 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and 10.4 seconds to reach 200. The announced top speed is 320 km/h.

As with the competition version, the new Squadra Corse will be based on the Gallardo Superleggera. The V10 engine will generate 570 horsepower at 8,000 RPM. The gearbox will also be the one used in the Blancpain car, a six-speed electronically controlled robotised gearbox.

The interior will feature minimal equipment in order to achieve a lower weight. It will have carbon fibre and Alcantara elements; the latter present on the lower part of the dashboard, the headrests and the centre console. Carbon fibre has been used for the central part of the dashboard, around the instruments, the interior of the doors and other elements in the cabin. For those who want more comfort, the sporty seats can be swapped for more comfortable ones, one of the options available on this new Lambo.

Lamborghini does not abandon its 1970s colours and, as is almost traditional, will also offer them on the Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse. It will be available in Giallo Midas (yellow), Bianco Monocerus (white), Grigio Thalasso (grey) and Rosso Mars (red). The exterior is completed with matt black on the rear wing, with body-colour contrasts. The bonnet, air intakes, rear diffuser and wheels will be painted black, while the brake calipers can be ordered in red, black or yellow.
