The Lancer Sportback is coming to the United States

The five-door Lancer, called Sportback, which was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show last year, will be sold in the United States as Mitsubishi has confirmed, so it will not be exclusive to Europe. This body style is slightly longer than the four-door version to make room for the tailgate.
The Lancer Sportback will be sold in the North American market with two trim levels and one engine for each. The first will be the GTS, with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine producing 168 hp, which can be fitted with a five-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed simulated CVT.
The second will be the Ralliart, with the same engine as the Evolution X but with reduced power of 237 hp. This version will have all-wheel drive, an active centre differential, and can be fitted with either the six-speed TC-SST dual-clutch gearbox or a CVT, also with six speeds. Prices have not yet been confirmed, and according to Mitsubishi, the launch will take place in the summer of this year.
