Thomas Mueller, Executive Director of Product Engineering at Jaguar Land Rover, stated that “our goal is to design and build the safest vehicles for our customers. Digital innovations and the introduction of new advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) have allowed us to maintain safety standards at the highest level without sacrificing the versatility or performance typically associated with the Discovery badge.”
This is how the safety tests went
The Discovery Sport led the compact SUV segment when it went on sale in 2014. It was the first to introduce cutting-edge Land Rover systems, such as the pedestrian airbag and Autonomous Emergency Braking, which have since been enhanced with new radar technology and updated algorithms to expand their capability. The head restraints and rear-row seat belts have also been redesigned, and Multi Collision Brake technology has been added.

Its numerous digital innovations, such as built-in Alexa and proprietary voice commands available on all models, offer the option to control various settings and functions through natural, intuitive voice commands without having to take your hands off the steering wheel or your eyes off the road. The Land Rover Discovery Sport includes these advanced driver assistance systems:
- Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)
- Lane Keep Assist
- Emergency Lane Keeping Assist
- 3D Surround Camera and ClearSight Ground View
- Adaptive Cruise Control
