The Lexus LC500 is unveiled at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show

Lexus is another of the brands that has chosen the 2016 Detroit Motor Show to present its flagship. This has been the Lexus LC500, a coupé based on the LF-LC concept that could be seen at several previous shows. The design house’s rules are recorded in every corner of this coupé, which promises to be a real revelation at some point in 2016, although it was not specified exactly when it would arrive.
Many of the details seen on the Lexus LC500 stem from the concept model it is based on, although it has been greatly simplified so that it can work perfectly in the real world. The platform has been built with lightweight steel, aiming for a weight lower than we initially imagined. The chassis is the most rigid the brand has ever produced, even taking into account the carbon fibre LFA chassis. This allows it to have a 52/48 weight distribution across both axles, something that favours driving.

Inside, there is a large amount of leather and Alcántara, creating an elegant and luxurious space, complemented by metal elements. The look moves away from a pure sports car, as the aim has been to offer comfort and an appearance similar to that of a saloon, but even so, it is very attractive and offers what a car leading a brand’s range needs to succeed.
Under the bonnet sits a 5.0-litre V9 engine producing 467 CV and a maximum torque of 527 Nm, which has already been tested in the GS F and RC F models. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration takes 4.5 seconds, and all this power is controlled by brakes fitted with six pistons at the front and four pistons at the rear. The wheels can be 20 inches and optionally 21 inches, which give it a truly spectacular presence.
