Evija Lotus Electric Cars Supercars Videos
The Lotus Evija X, a one-off model, crashes at Goodwood
This one-off model, with a total output of 2,011 CV, surprised us when it lost control leaving the track at Goodwood and was left wrecked.

An accident is always something to regret, even if there are no injuries and no damage beyond the car has to be lamented. And if the car in question is a one-off model, and on top of that a supercar, it hurts even more. This is what happened at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where an accident occurred that shocked spectators.
The accident involved the Lotus Evija X, a fully electric supercar that was presented not long ago and that achieved an excellent lap at the Nürburgring. Given this background, it was assumed that the Goodwood circuit wasn’t going to pose any problem for this one-off. Unfortunately, the reality was very different.

The Lotus Evija X lined up on the grid and put on a show at the start of the race. The tyres spun up smoke and the car pulled away from the starting point with ease, heading towards the track. But something happened a few metres later, and the video shows the driver losing control and running into a row of straw bales that mark the lane.

No injuries were reported, but although the impact occurred at low speed, we can see the front end completely wrecked. All the car’s aerodynamic elements and the front bodywork, including the front bumper, were damaged. There is no official statement on the cause of the accident, but there is a slight clue as to what might have happened.
The Lotus Evija X uses four electric motors, so everything may be due to a power failure in one of the motors. Considering that the hypercar produces a combined 2,011 CV of power, a power failure in one of the motors, even a very brief one, could cause it to lose control. It is also curious that the entire front end suffered so much damage from an impact at such a low speed.
