The Lucid Air receives interesting improvements with the latest software update released by the manufacturer

This kind of move is almost certainly very well received by the brand’s customers, who are no longer offered just an expensive vehicle, but one also loaded with the most cutting-edge technology.

The Lucid Air electric luxury saloon is receiving interesting new features with the latest version of the Lucid UX software, which is already being distributed in the United States via an OTA update.

Version 2.4 of Lucid UX adds 3D lane visualisation, curve control and Lane Change Assist for vehicles equipped with the DreamDrive Pro advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) DreamDrive Pro. This three-dimensional lane display is similar to the one Tesla currently offers. When driving on the motorway, the vehicle shows a real-time representation of traffic in its own lane and the two adjacent lanes on the central screen, along with information about the speed limit and the active driver assistance functions.

Curve control is also now integrated into the adaptive cruise control system, which automatically adjusts speed on winding roads instead of maintaining a constant speed regardless of the road layout.

A little more autonomous than yesterday, but still not enough

Another new feature is Driver-Initiated Lane Change Assist. As the name suggests, the vehicle can change lanes on the motorway, but only after the driver activates the indicator for a prolonged period while keeping their hands on the steering wheel. In addition, the Motorway Assist system can now be activated on bends thanks to high-definition maps that provide details on lanes reserved for multi-occupancy vehicles, exit forks and lane merges or splits.

The update also introduces the so-called “Extended Stop and Go“, which allows the vehicle to resume driving in heavy traffic even after long stops, provided the driver keeps their eyes on the road. Additionally, owners of a Lucid Air can now use wireless Apple CarPlay on the instrument cluster of their vehicle, not just on the central screen.

Finally, it should be noted that with Lucid UX 2.4 the Amazon Alexa assistant has been replaced by the company’s new hands-free voice assistant called Lucid Assistant. This assistant can control navigation, the audio systems, adjust the climate and activate the heated seats via voice commands, activated by saying “Hey Lucid!” or by pressing the microphone button on the steering wheel.
