The Lynk & Co 08 finally makes its appearance and suggests it could soon arrive in Europe

This large SUV is set to be unveiled soon and, following its rollout in China, is expected to reach the European market alongside the Lynk & Co 01.

Lynk Co 08

Just a few weeks ago we were talking about the Lynk & Co 08, a large SUV that aims to position itself between the vehicles of Volvo and those of the rest of the group’s subsidiary companies. Now we can see it in more detail and we have more information about the model, so we can get an idea of what the Geely group brand, owner of this brand and of Volvo, has in store for us.

The SUV model will have a length of 4.82 metres, a width of 1.92 metres and a height of 1.69 metres. The wheelbase will measure 2.85 metres, which guarantees a comfortable and attractive interior space. It will not be a fully electric car, although it does have the option of being electrified, which will allow it to feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

The expectation is that, being based on an architecture derived from the one used by the XC60, it will have all-wheel drive. An entry-level setup similar to the Lynk & Co 01 is expected, so we would be talking about a 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine, paired with an electric motor that can deliver 82 CV. Working together, both powertrains can produce a maximum output of 261 CV.

As for electric-only range, this model should be able to reach 70 kilometres, which makes it a good option. An intermediate version will be available, which could reach 350 CV, also with plug-in hybrid technology. A higher version is also expected, with a maximum output of 455 CV, all judging by what the aforementioned Volvo XC60 offers.

Inside we will find a 15.4-inch multimedia screen in the central position, while the instrument screen measures 12.3 inches. On the steering wheel there is the selector lever, while in front of the driver there is a Head-Up Display that projects information so that no detail of the road is missed.

The arrival of the Lynk & Co 08 in Europe is not yet clear, although if the success of the Lynk & Co 01 is confirmed, it would not be surprising if this model arrived in our markets soon.
