The McLaren Speedtail could reach 100 km/h in under 2 seconds!
The next hypercar from the English manufacturer, the McLaren Speedtail, could accelerate so quickly that it would reach 100 km/h in under 2 seconds.
McLaren Speedtail is one of the most anticipated hypercars of recent years. With its official debut a month away, new details and rumours have come to light which point to spectacular performance.
The information comes from sources within the project itself and from Speedtail customers, who have stated that the car has been tested in 2 configurations: all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive.
Rumours suggest the model will feature all-wheel drive; however, other leaks claim it will ultimately be an RWD mode, which will be capable of reaching 100 km/h in under 2 seconds, that is, half a second faster than the Bugatti Chiron!

If these figures are accurate, it would be the fastest hypercar in the world, and the Speedtail could rival the most powerful motorcycles on the market, bearing in mind that it weighs far more than they do.
Details about its engineering are quite limited; however, what we do know for now is that it will feature a combustion engine and an electric motor, meaning it will make use of hybrid technology.

The ICE appears to be a tuned version of the twin-turbo 4.0 V8 from the McLaren 720S. A good bet, especially considering the great success enjoyed by this line of models and the positive reception it has received from its audience.
The resulting combination of its hybrid technology has not been revealed even to customers; however, it is expected to reach or come very close to 1,000 CV of power.
The presentation of this hypercar will take place at a private event. Its official debut will take place on 12 October.
