The Mercedes AMG GT four-door can be yours from 176,200 euros in Spain
Mercedes has just opened orders for its new four-door AMG GT, which comes with two engine versions and a starting price of 176,200 euros.

The concept of a four-door coupé caused a sensation when Mercedes launched the CLS in the early 2000s. This model marked a before and after not only in the history of the star brand, but also in the history of the automobile, as this concept has since been reflected in other brands. Mercedes has now chosen to give room to a far more radical and sporty variant than ever before, one that departs from the traditional CLS to forge its own path. It is called the AMG GT and today the German firm has opened orders and revealed its prices.
It was at this latest edition of the Geneva Motor Show that we were able to see the four-door version of the AMG GT first-hand. This model arrives to rival directly with models such as the Porsche Panamera Turbo or the upcoming Audi RS7, something the brand has achieved with a tuning worthy of the AMG name, resting on its rear end.
The AMG GT shares its platform with both the E-Class and the CLS, but on this occasion Mercedes has wanted to give it a distinctive touch even though it sits on an already familiar body. On one hand, we find a more aggressive design, a result of its gigantic -and imposing- Panamericana grille and its width, which is necessary to perfectly convey all the power generated by its V8 engine.

At the same time, and as has become habitual in recent models with the AMG badge and the 63 designation, we find two power levels. Although both share the same engine, the plain 63 variant is capable of producing a total of 585 CV and 800 Nm of torque, figures drawn from the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. If we opt for the AMG GT 63 S, we find a striking 639 CV and 900 Nm of torque.
If we purchase the more “modest” version of the four-door AMG GT, we can enjoy an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h. If our decision leads us to the S-badged version, we can dispatch the 0-100 sprint in just 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 315 km/h.

However, the AMG badge comes with a price to match its performance, and in the case of the new four-door Mercedes AMG GT it would be no different. Its starting price is set at 176,200 euros, a figure that rises to 195,500 euros for the S version and to 218,496 euros if we want to get our hands on the Edition 1, a limited edition that will be produced exclusively for one year.
