The Mercedes-Benz Clase A 180 and A 250 4MATIC are now available in Spain
The new Mercedes Clase A receives new petrol engines that expand its range, with the A 180 as the entry-level version and the A 250 as the most powerful option

If we have to choose a recent model that stands out above the rest, one of them undoubtedly has to be the new Mercedes-Benz Clase A, a model whose design has clearly hit the mark and which, moreover, brings a major technological leap, making it a reference within the compact premium vehicle segment.
The new Mercedes Clase A continues the line of offering a dynamic and youthful look, in keeping with the brand’s recent presentations, leaving behind the stereotypes of the past when Mercedes aimed its models at an older age group. This direction has been expressed perhaps most clearly in the Clase A, and especially in the new generation, where these characteristic traits have been accentuated even further.
Production of the new Mercedes Clase A began last April and, as is usual at the start of production for a new model, not with all of the announced engines. Little by little more will be added, and now we welcome two new versions, both powered by petrol engines: the A 180 and the A 250 with Mercedes’s permanent 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

The smallest, the Clase A 180, is presented as the entry point to the range, featuring the new engine with internal code M282 of 1,330 cc, which in this case delivers a power output of 136 CV, an increase of 14 CV over its predecessor, along with a maximum torque of 200 Nm. With this engine, Mercedes offers the option of pairing it with either a manual or an automatic gearbox, while the combined consumption is rated at 5.8 l/100 km and CO2 emissions at 132 g/km, measured under the new WLTP emissions cycle.
In an intermediate position sits the Clase A 200, which delivers 163 CV and was already available in the Spanish market, so the new Clase A 250 comes to occupy a position above it. In the latter you will find under its bonnet the M260 engine, a 2,000 cc unit delivering a power output of 224 CV and a torque of 350 Nm, paired exclusively with the 7-DCT dual-clutch automatic gearbox and the 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive. For this engine a combined consumption of 6.6 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 151 g/km have been set, also stated under the WLTP cycle.

In addition, and complementing the arrival of these engines, we must take into account the interesting standard equipment that Mercedes-Benz offers for the Clase A in the Spanish market, comprising the following elements:
- Reversing camera.
- MBUX multimedia system, including Connect 20 with pre-equipment for navigation and touchpad.
- Voice control “Hey Mercedes”.
- Communication module for Mercedes me connectivity services.
- Progressive trim line.
- 17-inch alloy wheels.
- Leather-trimmed multifunction sports steering wheel.
- Thermotronic climate control.
- High Performance LED headlights.
The starting price set for the Mercedes Clase A 180 in Spain is 28,800 euros, while the Clase A 250 starts from 48,550 euros, with taxes and transport included for both. The Mercedes dealer network in Spain is already accepting orders for both models, and they can also be customised using the configurator on Mercedes’s website.
