The Mercedes Clase E shows its interior in an image gallery

In 2017 we will have a new Mercedes Clase E, so we are already beginning to receive information about this new version of the luxury car. Although the first thing we look at in this type of vehicle is the exterior and the design that sets them apart from their natural rivals, in this article we are going to focus on the interior. These cars are designed to increase comfort and driving efficiency, so what we will see in the image gallery that accompanies the article is precisely that: what we will find when we sit behind the wheel.

The German brand wants to raise the standard of the mid-range part of its line-up, offering the new Clase E elements that could be found in the Clase S, but with a more dynamic, sportier touch. Optionally, the instrument panel will consist of a 12.3-inch screen, where three types of dials can be selected: “Classic“, “Sport” and “Progressive“. Alongside this screen there is an identical one, of the same size, dedicated to the information and entertainment system. If this option is not chosen, there will be two more standard dials separated by a 7-inch screen and a central screen of 8.4 inches.

The new Mercedes Clase E will offer several trim levels and cabin add-ons

The centre console of the new Mercedes Clase E will differ depending on whether it is a model with a manual or automatic gearbox, so each option will have a different design to house that model’s gear lever. The steering wheel will feature touch-sensitive buttons to control the sound system and other included equipment. As a detail, it is worth remembering the use of LED lights in the cabin. This light allows the type of interior lighting to be changed and creates a relaxed atmosphere for driving.

LED technology will also be available for the exterior lighting, both at the front and rear, where a stardust effect has been sought, intended to recall the Milky Way or the trail of a jet engine, to enhance the visual effect.

The seats will be offered in three different models, depending on the trim level, so there is an extensive list of customisation possibilities that can make this remarkable model even more striking. The Mercedes Clase E will be presented at the Detroit Motor Show in January. That is when the German brand will reveal the rest of the car’s features.
