Mercedes Electric Cars Concepts Coupés
The Mercedes Iconic arrives, a design exercise that looks to the future from the brand's past
The Mercedes Iconic arrives with a retro style that combines the brand’s tradition with the most appealing innovations of Mercedes for its future models.

Mercedes has always been ahead of many of its competitors thanks to the design exercises it has carried out. A Mercedes always offers a distinctive, elegant and powerful look, and the new Mercedes Iconic is no exception. The image of this concept model aims to stand out, and to do so it draws on an element from the past that already graces the electric Mercedes GLC: the iconic vertical grille of the great coupés of yesteryear.
We had already seen this grille in a preview a few days ago, but now it’s time to take a full look at the car. This stylistic detail reflects Mercedes’s intention to embrace the brand’s rich heritage with the innovations that new technologies bring.

A broad chrome frame gives way to a smoked glass lattice structure and the lighting that frames it. Above it shines the traditional star, also illuminated, which brings this emblematic style back to Mercedes models. The slim headlights, with a minimalist and effective design, have just shaped the light signature the car carries. The shape of the car and its black finish give it the attractive form it presents.
An interior matched to the comfort and style of the exterior
Looking inside, we also find an attractive and elegant design. Luxury materials and careful design define the distinctive style of this elegant concept car. The centrepiece of the instrument panel is a floating glass piece called Zeppelin, with an interior filled with analogue and digital instrumentation.
This blend creates an interesting contrast that enhances the sense of elegance this concept model conveys. In this way, not only is a retro style created, but the sensation of elegance and comfort is also heightened.

MERCEDES ICONIC
The exterior also holds surprises
The bodywork of the Mercedes Iconic is covered in an element that works as a set of solar panels. This coating contains neither rare earths nor silicon, so it can be easily recycled. With an area of 11 square metres, it can help cover up to 1,200 additional kilometres each year, harnessing the energy of the sun. This, of course, depends on the characteristics of each region and the presence of sunlight at any given moment.
Safety and driver assistance systems
As for ADAS, driver assistance systems are more efficient thanks to the use of AI. Recognition of traffic signs, other road users and obstacles is faster and more efficient, so driving can be made safer. The new computer systems are expected to process all data about ten times faster than current systems.
A more comfortable journey
The Mercedes concept car can use level 2 autonomous driving in the city, although it can reach level 4 autonomous driving on the open road. It also can park without help from the driver, which ensures better time management and reduces the anxiety of this delicate manoeuvre.
And alongside this car, we must not forget that a fashion collection based on this model is on offer, with six pieces for men and women, made from quality materials and with a design that reflects the glamorous look of the Mercedes Iconic. A design work that aims to show that tradition and modernity are not at odds.
