The Mini Rocketman Concept would have been cancelled
According to Car magazine, the mini Mini, or Mini Rocketman, has been cancelled, although it remains to be seen whether BMW will confirm this or not.

At the last Geneva motor show we showed you the Mini Rocketman Concept, which was described as the smallest of the Mini range. According to Car Magazine the project has been cancelled, although the truth is that there has been no official word on the matter yet.
Based on the reasons given by that publication, there was no certainty that the “mini Mini” would successfully pass the safety and crash tests, and at the same time its road stability was in doubt. Let us remember that the Rocketman had a wheelbase very similar to that of the original Mini, an extremely small car.
The Mini Rocketman, besides being almost 30 centimetres smaller than a Mini Cooper, has some features that BMW engineers have combined very well with the Mini: the rear tailgate, split into two sections and sliding outwards, or the possibility of removing the car’s central control unit so it can be configured on a computer and its software updated. In addition, the roof lights up and is entirely glass. The lighting is achieved through a series of bars representing the Union Jack, the British flag.
While we wait for BMW to tell us the real reasons (if this concept was indeed cancelled for production) behind this rumour, you can watch an original video that the people at Mini released online almost a year ago, in which they make a comparison between the original Mini and the new Rocketman concept, a faithful expression of modern technology but with the same philosophy as its predecessor.
