Many vehicles have made a lasting mark on the toughest rally competitions but the Peugeot cars stand out especially among them. The French brand took the opportunity to highlight how effective its veteran 205 and 309 rally cars remain at the fourth edition of the Spain Classic Raid.

This event is aimed exclusively at classic vehicles and consists of covering eight stages totalling 2,100 kilometres. Despite the passing of time and the harsh conditions of the route, the Peugeot vehicles proved to be in top form after all these years.

Many teams took part in the Spain Classic Raid with cars from the eighties and showed an enviable level of preparation. However, the lion brand wanted to commemorate the good maintenance and outstanding performance of its oldest vehicles, so it awarded the best-placed team with a Peugeot. This honour went to Ricardo Barrasa García and Manuel Hernández Vázquez, who together perfectly mastered their Peugeot 205.

Without doubt, this fourth edition of the classic rally promised a great deal, and it delivered. More than 110 cars took part in the event, among which several Peugeot 205s and 309s were competing. All participants managed to overcome the challenges of the event and enjoy a spectacular week behind the wheel of their oldest cars. The only requirement to take part was to enter a vehicle more than 25 years old.

But the participants did not only enjoy driving, they also enjoyed the places and landscapes the route offered and the nature that surrounded them along the way. This was made possible by the spectacular route they had to tackle, which started in Barcelona on 21 October, with stage ends and starts in Lleida, Zaragoza, Burgo de Osma, Ávila, Mérida, Córdoba and Ciudad Real. After the gruelling week of competition, the Spain Classic Raid came to an end at the Royal Palace of Madrid.

It must have been an unforgettable experience for the competitors in this fourth edition, which blended culture, tourism and a passion for motorsport. Moreover, it is no surprise that the participation of Peugeot vehicles has been a complete success, given the strong racing heritage they inherit directly from their competition ancestors.
