The Nammi Box, a 25,000-euro Chinese electric car, will soon arrive in Europe

The Chinese brand will bring a new electric model to Europe, designed for getting around the city, which for the moment will only be available in Switzerland, for €25,000

Chinese-made electric cars that come from Chinese brands keep arriving in Europe. And now it is Dongfeng, the multinational from this country, that brings a new city model designed to move freely around the cities of our countries. For the moment, it will only be available in Switzerland, although it is expected to gradually reach the rest of the countries on the continent.

The Nammi Box is based on Dongfeng’s S3 platform and features a 42.3 kWh battery. The electricity stored in this unit powers the electric motor, which delivers 94 CV of power. However, there is another variant of this model with a 31.5 kWh battery, although this one is reserved for the Chinese market and is not expected to be seen in Europe.

As for range, this electric city car is credited, according to the brand’s own figures, with up to 311 kilometres on the WLTP cycle, which makes it a good companion for getting around the city.

On the outside, we find a car with bodywork that could well appeal to European buyers. At the front there is a lower grille and headlights with a very modern design, split and joined by a strip of LED lights. The door handles are integrated into the doors and extend when needed.

Another design detail is that the windows have no frames and the roof can be finished in white, creating an interesting contrast with the body colour. As for the interior, the images released by the brand show quite an interesting level of equipment.

Facing the driver is a steering wheel wrapped in two-tone leather. There is also a small screen that displays the vehicle’s main data. In the centre, a large multimedia screen dominates the dashboard. The door panels feature padded leather trim, which also extends along the lower part of the dashboard.

The centre console has a floating design, which creates an attractive look, in addition to offering several storage spaces. A wireless charger for mobile devices is also available.

The Nammi Box will have a price equivalent to 25,000 euros and will be imported from China. That said, it is expected that it will soon be manufactured in Italy, which will help control its price and avoid the tariffs imposed on cars arriving from China.
