The new 2011 Chevrolet Aveo will have a diesel version

Chevrolet is working hard to renew its range in a short time, and it seems that before 2011 it will be completely renewed, at least with its oldest models, which already need a change. The first of the global era was the Chevrolet Cruze, which has been a product that has given Chevrolet good results (in Spain it has doubled sales forecasts), but the changes continue.

With the new Chevrolet Spark, which will reach dealerships in January 2010, another model (the Matiz), which was already quite old, is renewed. But the surprise came when, according to the brand’s managers, the renewed Chevrolet Aveo arriving in 2010 will have a diesel engine in the new generation.

Apparently the engine would be the original unit Opel, 1.3 CDTI, but we do not know what power it would have in the Aveo. It is undoubtedly interesting news that, at last, an Aveo will have a diesel engine, since in Europe these engines account for a good percentage of sales, and the Aveo’s petrol engine is not very economical. For now, lacking an official photo and some of the renderings circulating online, we do not have much more information about the new Aveo, but we can anticipate that it will use the Spark’s platform and an exterior design similar to, or close to, that of the brand’s smaller car.
