The new BMW Series 5 2021 leaks ahead of its unveiling

The BMW Series 5 2021 has leaked ahead of its unveiling. The German saloon has updated its lines to look more like its sibling, the BMW Series 3.

The New Bmw 5 Series

The new facelift of the BMW Series 5 G30 has been leaked ahead of its unveiling and, we believe, matches everything we already knew about the refreshed Bavarian saloon from some spy images. The German brand itself has updated one of its flagship models, the Series 5, with slightly larger kidney grilles, sharper headlights and new rear lights that will make a star appearance, since for now we do not know them.

Overall, the new BMW Series 5 2021 looks much more modern and more in line with the overall design of the latest BMW Series 3. Will it become a real hit? We will have to wait a little longer to see it.

A few days ago we were able to see some spy images of the model, but it was today, when the Germancarforum website published two images in which the new lines of the new saloon from the German house can be seen almost perfectly. In fact, the new BMW Series 5 2021 features, as we can see in the leaked images, new headlights called Daytime Running Light that are shaped like a hockey stick. These new light units feature a break in the light design, as well as the two ‘loops’ in each corner.

As we have mentioned, the grille and its kidneys are a little larger. As for the bonnet and the front bumper, the former seems not to have changed, while the latter was redesigned to fit the new headlights. Compared with the BMW Series 5 G30 you can see how it has grown and how the changes have evolved.

Moving to the rear, we can see that the edges of the bumper are more defined, while the lower part of the diffuser has been designed to look sportier. The general shape of the rear lights is also slightly different, but to notice the changes you have to look at them for a while to see the sharper edges and a slight reduction in volume. The shape of the boot lid also appears to be slightly different.

As for the rear light graphics, the current G30-generation Series 5 has a traditional mirrored double-level L shape as a light signature at the rear. It still looks like a hockey stick, but hollow. However, the updated model drops that look and comes with a single-level light signature for its rear lights, one that actually curves around the edges, back towards the boot lid.

Thanks to Germancarforum, we now know exactly what BMW is doing with the 2021 Series 5, and if you are a fan of the current Series 3, we cannot imagine you not liking its updated big brother. The question is: has the Bavarian carmaker done enough with the BMW Series 5 to give it some kind of styling edge over the Mercedes-Benz E-Class or the new Audi A6? We will know more once BMW officially presents the updated Series 5, something they may now feel obliged to do earlier than planned.
