Ford Transit Hybrid Cars Furgonetas
The new Ford Custom Nugget offer more space and more fun in your free time
The Ford van designed for leisure and recreation will be shown in September in Germany, after which its sales will begin.

Camper vans are a type of vehicle that is growing steadily. They are vehicles prepared so that you can enjoy your free time and leisure very intensely, using the van itself to sleep and live during those trips. Ford presents its new Custom Nugget vans, adapted for this use, which arrive with improvements and a plug-in hybrid drivetrain that offers greater versatility.
When this model was launched in mid-2023, it was announced that a variant with a plug-in hybrid engine would arrive later, and it is now that this variant has reached the market. Until now, the Titanium version was on sale, with a pop-up roof and powered by an EcoBlue engine that delivered 170 CV, paired with an eight-speed gearbox.

This new version has been modified in collaboration with Westfalia, a specialist in this type of work, resulting in a variant with all the comforts and ready to offer unforgettable moments during holiday trips. It will be shown live for the first time at the Düsseldorf Caravan Show in Germany, held from 30 August to 8 September 2024.

FORD CUSTOM NUGGET ACTIVE
The Active variant
This new variant, named Active, follows the line started by the launch version Titanium. It takes its inspiration from SUVs, so it has an attractive and sporty design. The newly designed grille, black plastic panels and 17-inch machined alloy wheels with an exclusive design give it a very appealing look for off-road driving. At the rear, LED lights reinforce the model’s dynamic appearance.
Inside, there is upholstery in durable, water-resistant fabric. This is important for keeping the interior dry and comfortable, even after a day at the beach. As for driver assistance systems, it comes as standard with the Driver Assistance Pack.

This includes the Pre-Collision Assist, Reverse Brake Assist and Blind Spot Information System. The Adaptive Cruise Control is also available to the driver. The Camper touchscreen of Ford allows centralised control of the van’s systems, including lighting, heating, water levels and much more, making camping trips even more enjoyable.
This variant can be ordered with four-wheel drive in the version with the 170 CV EcoBlue diesel engine and the eight-speed transmission. In addition, it can tow up to 2.3 t, so a trailer can be added.
The PHEV version uses a system similar to the one used in the Ford Kuga Plug-in Hybrid. It combines a 2.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor to deliver a total output of 233 CV. The battery has a capacity of 11.8 kWh. This allows it to run in electric mode in urban environments and in combined cycle, or with the diesel engine when greater power is required.
The battery can be charged through a Mode 3 cable or with the Mode 2 cable supplied with the van.

Comfortable interior
Looking at the rear, the area intended for living during camping periods, you can enjoy the comfort it offers. In the long-wheelbase models there is more space for the rest areas and even the kitchen. In this case, an optional indoor bathroom is also available, which helps make trips more comfortable.
