The new Ford Ka + is now available in Spain

Positioned between the Ford Ka and the Ford Fiesta, the American brand offers us a new option, the Ford Ka +, a vehicle that goes on sale in Spain right now. It won’t have an easy time carving out a place in the B segment, as it will have to share sales with another vehicle that has become a best-seller in Spain, the Dacia Sandero.

To attract future owners, the Ford Ka + will have several selling points in its favour. Among them, its interior space: slightly shorter than the Ford Fiesta but 29 MM taller, it allows a passenger up to two metres tall to sit comfortably in the rear seats. In addition, thanks to the use of a global platform for compact cars, the Ford Ka + benefits from easy access thanks to its 5 doors and the ability to carry 5 people.

The boot is also quite capable for a B-segment vehicle, thanks to its 270 litres of capacity. If that still feels too small, the seats can be folded down in a 60/40 configuration, and there are 21 storage spaces for small objects spread throughout the cabin. They have even included a compartment at the end of the instrument panel for valuables, with the peculiarity that it can only be accessed when the driver’s door is open.

The Ford Ka + will be offered with two engines. The most basic version, also in terms of equipment, is called Essential, while the Ultimate will be the most complete. As standard we find items such as six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, central locking and front electric windows. On the other hand, if we opt for the Ultimate model, the list of options includes, among others, air conditioning, front and rear electric windows, heated seats, electrically adjustable mirrors, rear parking sensors and cruise control.

All of this is further seasoned with Ford SYNC technology with Applink, a communication and entertainment system that allows voice activation of various smartphone applications, and with Ford MyKey , which allows you to set the maximum speed and maximum audio volume and check that the safety systems have not been disabled. This last feature is ideal for parents whose children have just passed their driving test.
