The new Jeep Grand Cherokee debuts in Europe exclusively in plug-in hybrid form
The fifth generation of Jeep’s flagship has just landed on the old continent with a special launch edition, generous equipment and a powerful electrified engine

Officially unveiled last September, the renewed Jeep Grand Cherokee left us with a great impression thanks to its updated design, its interiors filled with high-quality materials and a high level of technology, and its new plug-in hybrid powertrain.
Now, the popular model has just arrived in Europe in its short-wheelbase, five-seat variant, and moreover, only with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, since let us remember that this fifth generation of the popular American SUV is the first generation in the history of the model to feature electrified engines.
At 4.91 metres long, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe will go head-to-head with tough rivals such as the Volkswagen Touareg, the BMW X5, the Land Rover Discovery or the Lexus RX, among many others. Very generous dimensions that offer a large interior space for its occupants and a boot volume of over 500 litres.

Introducing the range, a very special edition
This arrival on our continent has come accompanied by a limited launch edition called Exclusive Launch Edition, which can already be reserved in our country until 30 March, with a presence that has nothing to envy from its German rivals.
As far as its design is concerned, this new launch edition is offered in four exterior colours: Diamond Black, Bright White, Velvet Red – our favourite – and Baltic Grey. Colours that, combined with the Diamond Black roof contrasting with the bodywork, give it a very elegant look.

Another key element the Exclusive Launch Edition boasts are its new 21-inch light alloy wheels with a chrome and black finish, which add that extra touch of sportiness that suits the new Grand Cherokee so well.
Very technologically advanced
Once we step inside its cabin, this special edition comes with a huge list of standard equipment, among which we highlight its elegant walnut wood inserts, its new electric seats with massage, ventilation and heating functions upholstered in Palermo leather, its new 10-inch digital instrument cluster, its new 10.25-inch infotainment system, night vision camera, McIntosh sound system with 19 speakers, and multiple systems such as forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist.

Without losing its habits
Let us not forget that if Jeep and its Grand Cherokee stand out for anything, it is for their great off-road capabilities. For this, Jeep has equipped it with the Quadra-Drive II 4×4 traction system, the Quadra-Lift air suspension and the Selec-Terrain system, through which we can choose among five different driving modes: Auto, Snow, Sand/Mud, Rock and Sport mode.
Under its bonnet, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee Exclusive Launch Edition features a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine, accompanied by two electric motors powered by a 17 kWh lithium-ion battery, all combined with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

With this setup, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe produces 375 CV and 637 Nm of torque, and can travel up to 40 kilometres in fully electric mode according to the WLTP cycle.
Its price?
For now, Jeep has not revealed its full price list, although we know this launch edition starts from 76,498 euros with discounts included. A considerable price, though quite interesting considering everything we get in return.
