The new Lexus IS 300h makes its debut in Spain

Lexus§2§ has decided to bring forward the launch of its Spanish models, in terms of radical changes to its IS models. In this way, the previous second-generation IS disappears, making way for the third generation, although for the moment only the hybrid model will be sold in our country.

We are referring to the IS 300h, the latest Lexus to be presented in Spain. As we said, the second generation will leave our market, including the saloon, the IS F sports car and the IS-C convertible. While we wait for the remaining new IS models to arrive in Spain, we will for now tell you about the hybrid version.

The new IS 300h features a 2.5-litre petrol engine, with dual injection and variable valve timing, paired with an electric motor that can deliver 143 CV. This configuration achieves fuel consumption figures that are almost similar to the diesel version, although the hybrid can provide even more power from the engine.

The equipment for the new IS 300h will be divided into five levels: Hybrid ECO, Hybrid, Hybrid Drive, Hybrid Plus and Hybrid F-Sport. From the base Hybrid ECO version, equipment includes 8 airbags, including knee airbags for the driver and passenger, advanced stability control, tyre pressure monitoring, hill-start assist, an active bonnet that raises the bonnet a few centimetres to minimise the consequences of a pedestrian accident, among other safety systems and equipment, such as the 7-inch LCD screen with Bluetooth. As we move up the range, the equipment becomes more complete, up to the Hybrid F-Sport, with features such as ebony wood inserts, a 15-speaker Mark Levinson sound system or an electric sunroof.

As optional extras on the intermediate versions, you can buy a package that includes front and rear parking sensors, keyless smart entry, digital radio, satellite navigation with online services and a rear-view camera.

The most striking of all is the F-Sport, which stands out for its front bumper with more prominent volumes, a double chrome exhaust outlet or 18-inch alloy wheels characteristic of the model, with an instrument cluster almost similar to that fitted to the Lexus LFA.
