The new Mercedes CLA subtly teases itself less than a month before its presentation in Las Vegas

The model ranges of the various brands are in full swing, a phenomenon driven by the emergence of new segments and vehicles that adopt numerous body styles. Mercedes stands out for offering a wide array of options thanks to its SUVs and four-door coupés, such as the CLS. The success this model from the German brand enjoyed was such that engineers decided to adapt that segment to more modest dimensions, an idea that gave rise to the design of the CLA. Now, the long-awaited second generation of the Mercedes coupé is about to arrive, something the brand has wanted to confirm with this teaser.

Since the arrival of the latest Mercedes A-Class, we have seen not only a new design language from the brand, but also a significant technological advance. The new systems fitted to the star’s compact model have gradually spread, affecting the newly launched B-Class and something that will also be reflected in the new CLA.

This second generation of the four-door coupé will debut on January 8 in Las Vegas, but Mercedes has wanted to offer us a tasty preview first. To do so, the German brand has provided us with a teaser that aims to bring us closer to the silhouette of the new Mercedes CLA, a model that continues to respect the characteristic lines of a four-door coupé.

The sloping C-pillar creates a much more dynamic flow in the design of the CLA, providing a perfect blend of elegance and sportiness. Despite the mystery the star brand has chosen to maintain around this new generation, we can sense that numerous features already seen on today’s A-Class and B-Class will be applied.

With this premise, we can expect a more streamlined front end, where sleeker headlights will set a more modern and fresh character. This same attitude will be represented at the rear, where a more current design language will bring new taillights and sharper lines. Furthermore, Mercedes has confirmed that the MBUX system will be present in the new CLA, giving it a certain degree of artificial intelligence and making day-to-day life easier in many respects.

Another novelty will be the so-called ENERGIZING COACH, a system that will provide recommendations on fitness exercises. In this way, Mercedes is preparing to keep expanding its family, where the compact segment will be covered by the A-Class, B-Class, A-Class Saloon and the upcoming CLA, a model that arrives ready to keep putting up a tough fight against its competitors.
