The new Nissan Juke will be ready from the second half of 2017.

One of the models that has generated the most discussion since its launch by Nissan has been the Juke. From its very first days it attracted a lot of attention thanks to its bold design and its modern, very attractive image. Several versions emerged, some even inspired by Batman and the Batmobile from Tim Burton’s film, which gave it a special touch for the more daring buyers. After several years dominating the small compact SUV segment, 2017 will mark the arrival of the second generation of this model.

The new Juke could feature several changes to its look which, although it will not completely break with the image we have of it, will be slightly different and will come with a new platform. The new Juke will be built on the new platform born from the alliance with Renault, the Common Module Family, which will allow changes that help reduce weight, fit new engines and, above all, cut production costs.

Changes to the model

With this new platform the car will be larger, which will mainly benefit those in the rear seats, who will be able to travel more comfortably and have their legs positioned in a more natural way. This platform can also be used with more engines, so there will be news in this area too. Among them, the presence of a 1.0-litre petrol engine, a 1.5-litre diesel block and a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine that will raise the top of the range to 190 CV looks very likely. A hybrid option is not ruled out either, which would expand the possibilities of this model.

The physical appearance could also change. Its front end would move closer to the look of the Qashqai. That said, the Juke’s styling is not something that can be forgotten, so certain features that are present in the current bodywork and that define the character of the Juke will be kept. The distinctive wheel arches and rear lights, for example, will continue to define the model’s personality.

As for technology, it will feature new infotainment systems, compatible with Android and iPhone smartphones, which will improve the car’s connectivity. It will also get new cabin materials and a redesigned interior. We do not have images of this new Juke yet, but we are quite excited about this renewal. Will we have to wait long to see it? Let’s hope not!
