The new Nissan LEAF 30 kWh boosts its power and range for 2016

Electric vehicles are increasingly fashionable and offer greater range with each new generation launched. Following this principle, manufacturers are improving their offer of electrically powered vehicles, making them more and more powerful and substantially improving their range. This is the case of the best-selling electric car on the market, the Nissan LEAF, which presents a new version with a higher-capacity battery that gives it a range 26% greater than the model currently on the market.
This lack of range is the main argument put forward by those opposed to this type of vehicle, although with the new Nissan LEAF 30 kWh that supposed drawback seems to be countered with much more objective data. The range of the Japanese small electric city car reaches 250 km on a single charge, which offers many kilometres to cover each day without needing to recharge the battery.

The recognisable silhouette of the Nissan LEAF remains intact in this new version, although several aspects have been improved, both exterior and interior, and not only from a technical standpoint. The internal dimensions remain exactly the same as in the 24 kWh version, but changes have been made that make it an even more comfortable and pleasant car to drive.
Inside, two trim levels can be found, Acenta and Tekna, while most of the changes have been made to the battery, the true star of this model’s functionality. The main change has been a redesign of its internal layout. In addition, it now uses other chemical substances that improve the connection between the electrodes, such as carbon, nitrogen and magnesium. A better arrangement of the cells also helps to manage the electric charge far more effectively and to improve its range.
The technological equipment is retained, offering some improvements and allowing the driver of the Nissan LEAF 30kWh to interact more effectively with the car and get the most out of it from the moment they get behind the wheel. This version will reach the European market in January 2016, seeking to ensure that buyers consider this possibility when choosing their next car: the 100% electric option.
