The new Renault Clio GLP is now priced… and it's an interesting option!

If you’re considering the new Renault Clio, you should take the GLP version into account. It is already on sale, at 1,000 euros more than the equivalent petrol version.

Renault has already opened the configurator for the new Clio GLP. A highly anticipated version, which becomes a really interesting option in terms of price, consumption and the advantages offered by the ECO label that the DGT awards to Autogas vehicles. Above all, considering that it barely costs 1,000 euros more than the Clio TCe on which it is based.

Here we gathered 10 reasons to switch to LPG. Another one is the arrival of cars as interesting as this Clio.

Clio GLP: savings from day one

The Clio GLP is based on the petrol version with the 100 CV TCe engine, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. A three-cylinder engine that, as we discussed in the road test of the new Renault Clio range carried out during the first presentation of the car, offers a magnificent performance in terms of smooth response and driving pleasure, with very moderate consumption.

In its adaptation to run on LPG, the Clio still advertises a power of 100 CV and a maximum torque of 160 Nm. Combined consumption in petrol mode rises slightly, going from a range between 5 and 5.8 in the petrol version to between 5.4 and 7.7 in the Clio GLP. The LPG combined consumption is 111 g/km.

Renault has not confirmed the range in LPG mode, thanks to the additional gas tank placed in the boot, which loses some capacity. The fuel tank keeps its 42 litres in both versions. The official performance figures also remain, with a top speed of 187 km/h and a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 11.8 seconds.

Considering that the LPG version represents a saving in cost per kilometre of between 30 and 40 percent depending on whether we compare it with a diesel or a petrol, it will not be difficult to recover the price premium of the LPG in a very short time.

Intens and Zen trims, from 13,189 euros with offer

Of the four trims in the Renault Clio range, the LPG version is combined with the Intens and Zen versions. The price of the Clio TCe GLP Intens starts at 17,780 euros, and from 19,280 euros with the Zen trim. The latter adds, among other things, digital instrumentation, rain and light sensors, automatic climate control, alloy wheels, parking sensors and keyless entry and start.

If the purchase is financed, the offer for the Clio TCe GLP brings the final price down to 13,189 euros for the Intens trim, and from 13,975 for the Zen version. In both cases a deposit of 6,000 euros is required, with a minimum financing period of 6 months.
