The new SEAT León Cupra 2017 and its 300 CV will see the light next spring
The new SEAT León Cupra arrives to become the most powerful Cupra in the Spanish brand, while the all-wheel drive system returns for the ST version. Dealers will be able to take orders from January, while owners will receive their cars from March.

A few days ago, my colleague Daniel had the chance to try out and get to know first-hand the update that the current SEAT León has undergone. An update that has also affected the sportiest variant of the León, the Cupra, making it the most powerful model of the Spanish brand.
To achieve this new milestone, its 2.0-litre TSI engine has been updated to gain 10 CV, so that its power is set at 300 CV, while the torque rises from 350 Nm to 380 Nm. In this way, the 30 Nm increase in torque now becomes more significant, as the maximum torque will be available over a wider rev range, from 1,800 rpm to 5,500 rpm, guaranteeing strong pulling power from low revs.
As is currently the case, the SEAT León Cupra will also be available in the ST estate version. If we opt for this version, our vehicle will be equipped with permanent 4Drive all-wheel drive via a 5th-generation Haldex system, along with the DSG dual-clutch gearbox. This will allow the car to retain its sporty character with the greatest possible safety and enjoyment.

But this will not be the only thing that allows us to get the most out of the new SEAT Léon Cupra, as we will have several systems that make driving easier. Among them are the DCC adaptive chassis control, progressive steering system and limited-slip differential, while each driver can adapt it to their preferences thanks to the Cupra Drive Profile with five modes to choose from: Comfort, Sport, Eco, Individual and Cupra, the last of which delivers the full power and qualities of the engine.
Although sportiness will in no way be at odds with comfort, safety and technology. The new SEAT León Cupra will feature a Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Assist lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control with city front assist and pedestrian protection Front Assist, electric parking brake and keyless entry and start system with My Beat function.
Finally, the interior will feature the 8-inch Media System Plus screen, an infotainment system that, among other things, includes the Connectivity Box, with which we can wirelessly charge a smartphone and boost the GSM signal in case coverage is too weak.
If you are thinking of getting the new Seat León Cupra, you should know that Seat dealers will begin accepting orders from January, while deliveries will start in March.
