The new Volvo EX90 is shown in its first images and announces its release date
The large 100% electric SUV from the Swedish brand is ready for its official debut, showcasing a very aerodynamic and modern design

Volvo has spent a couple of months giving small hints about one of its next major launches, the Volvo EX90, a large SUV that will replace the popular XC90, and that will feature a 100% electric powertrain and truly advanced technology and safety equipment.
Now, the Swedish brand has just published a video and the first images of its new EX90, and has also announced that its official presentation date will take place next Wednesday, November 9 in Stockholm, promising a higher level of safety than any previous Volvo.
Efficient design
In the images published as a teaser, the new Volvo EX90 will feature streamlined wheels with a very modern design, flush door handles and very clean, smooth surfaces, ingredients that are key to offering a drag coefficient of 0.29, a fairly good figure considering this is a 7-seat SUV.

Although we still know practically nothing about the cabin, T. Jon Mayer, head of design for the new EX90, stated that they have paid great attention to the interior lighting of the new SUV, “trying to create a warm place, and a somewhat cooler expression for the exterior”, fitting a panoramic roof and plenty of glass in its cabin.
Typically Volvo safety
As for its safety features, the Volvo EX90 will include LiDAR, a remote sensing system that uses a pulsed laser to measure distances with greater precision up to 250 metres away, as it has been installed at the highest possible point on the roof, which has also led to considerable complexity in terms of design and aerodynamics.
With all this, the new Volvo EX90 will have to compete with major giants of the segment such as the BMW iX, the Tesla Model X or the Audi e-tron, so it will need to bring out all its weapons to stand out from the rest and thus be able to rival its competitors.
