The new Volvo V40 R Design and Cross Country in Spain

Volvo has decided to bring to Spain the most fun versions of the V40, aimed at broadening the model’s range. The Volvo V40 R Design and Cross Country are the new estate and sporty versions of the V40, with much improved roominess and cargo capacity compared with the base V40.
The Volvo V40 Cross Country gains 40 millimetres in height compared with the standard V40, as befits an estate variant. The boot capacity is 335 litres, expandable to 350 litres if the double-floor option is chosen. It will be sold with three trim levels and will be available with three diesel engines of 115, 150 and 177 CV, as well as two petrol engines of 180 and 254 CV. The only one of all of them that will have all-wheel drive will be the 177 CV petrol version, and it will be sold in our country for between 26,230 and 39,490 EUR.

The sporty variant of the V40 will be the Volvo V40 R-Design, with specific equipment that highlights its most sporting qualities, such as the five-spoke alloy wheels of 17 or 18 inches, as well as sport seats and pedals, or twin exhaust outlets. The R-Design’s engines will be the same as those of the Cross Country, perhaps with lower consumption and emissions than the same variant of the Cross Country, due to its lower weight.
Prices for the R-Design range between 27,768 and 38,446 EUR. For those who want to buy the diesel versions, of this model as well as the Cross Country, there will be the possibility of taking advantage of the discounts under the PIVE Plan.
As is only to be expected from Volvo, both vehicles arrive with notable safety equipment, such as the new pedestrian airbag, the City Safety Advanced, cross-traffic alert and pedestrian detection system. They will also feature lane departure warning, parking assistance, an improved blind-spot detection system and automatic traffic sign recognition.
